Andrew Raquet: Old School Spin Meets Gold Coast Glam!

Old School Spin Meets Gold Coast Glam!

Andrew Raquet Applies Old World Provenance to New American Style on Long Island’s North Shore!

When Interior Designer Andrew Raquet received a message to telephone his lifelong friend, he assumed it was to plan a long overdue catch-up. Instead he was surprised to learn that she and her husband, son, and daughter had packed up their dyed-in-the-wool Manhattan life and moved to the North Shore of Long Island. She wanted Andrew to decorate their new home in a way that would combine her love of glamour and polished style with the more bucolic and refined sensibility of their community.

“My client and I literally grew up together so I knew what this move represented for her. She loved the cosmopolitan life she lived in New York but she was equally eager to start a new chapter for her family that now included a new baby girl on the way. I wanted to give her a dash of the glamour and flair she herself exudes, and, at the same time, create an environment where they could live comfortably,” says Raquet.

Raquet is quickly establishing himself as one of the greats. He has developed a rarified following that appreciates his devotion to creating highly customized interiors that are steeped in tradition but feel young and alive and most of all, completely singular. We were drawn to his uncanny ability to infuse drama, elegance, and formality with quiet nuance and piercingly correct rooms. Notice how each room blends with the house at large but is a destination in and of its self – a perfectly concocted gimlet.
