    John Currin “Mademoiselle”, 2009

New York-based painter John Currin continues to inspire young painters and impress savvy audiences with his exhibition at Gagosian Gallery. Featured here is “Mademoiselle”, 2009, oil on canvas. Married to model Rachel Feinstein who is often featured in the Marc Jacobs ad campaign, Currin draws his own inspiration from Renaissance oils, 1950’s women’s magazine ads, and contemporary politics. The fluidity of his subjects is reminiscent of Gustav Klimt. Currin’s solo exhibitions include the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago which traveled to the Serpentine Gallery, London, and the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York. www.gagosian.com

    Hey Soul Sister!

“At SoulCycle…we aspire to inspire. We inhale intention and exhale expectation. We commit to our climbs and find freedom in our sprints. We are a fitness community raising the roof at our own party. The rhythm pushes us harder than we ever thought possible. Our own strength surprises us every time. Addicted, obsessed, unnaturally attached to our bikes. High on sweat and the hum of the wheel, we reshape our entire bodies one ride at a time. Change your body, take your journey, find your soul.” Insiders swear by Stacy’s always wait-listed class at the East 83rd Street location in NYC. Devotes flock to the Bridgehampton studio on seasonal weekends. www.soul-cycle.com

Why Not Say What Happened?: A Memoir

Money, power, privilege, pedigree, fame, beauty, alcoholism, neglect, laughter, wit, abuse, dysfunction, and strength to overcome collide in Guinness Heir Ivana Lowell’s new memoir from Alfred A. Knopf. We’re not sure which was more gripping: reading her account or listening to her talk about it in person with the kind of painstaking honesty reserved for the most remarkable survivors.

Fashion darling Peter Copping makes a stunning statement with this shocking pink frock: Robe brodee en gazor. We love that it’s sensual, playful, and modern all at one. Copping has worked at Christian Lacroix, Sonia Rykiel, Marc Jacobs, and spent twelve years at Louis Vuitton. His sharp eye for cut, fabric, and detailing is unsurpassed. This young talent is already one of the greats. www.ninaricci.com
