Applying Old School Charm to Masterful Design
in Houston, Texas
Interior Designer Rob Southern has an uncanny knack for getting inside your head. He understands people – he knows how women envision themselves, what men need, and what children never imagine they can have. He spins his magic in a way that makes each member of the client team feel like they got exactly what they wanted without ever having fully articulated precisely what that “it” is.
For the Houston home of CLOVER Editor Chesie Breen and her family he did just this. “Rob has been a compass for our family both personally and professionally for a decade now. We’re all in awe of his talent but what really sets Rob apart is his willingness to turn himself over to you heart and soul. He works tirelessly, summons the most creative of ideas and delivers a home not a show place,” says Breen.
Good Georgian bones and a solid, well- proportioned floor plan made an ideal back drop for Breen’s unapologetic decorating style. “Chesie is not afraid to take risks – she’s open to new ideas and different approaches. She doesn’t get bogged down in how we get there as long as the end result is singular and conducive to her family’s lifestyle. She’s as decisive as she is informed and I don’t feel boastful saying that I think we created a house with a truly unique point of view,” says Southern.
